Read MoreHørSilke is a yarn that naturally draws both the eye and the hands. Spun from the finest French linen and Tussah silk – a wild silk with natural variation – it creates a lively and exclusive expression. The silk adds sheen and flexibility, while the linen brings structure, durability and lightness.
The colour palette is inspired by nature and the fibres’ own character. It is elegant, timeless yet modern, with a subtle depth: the linen thread is gently melanged, while the silk carries a slightly shifted tone. This creates a delicate interplay, where the colour changes softly – without it being immediately obvious why. The result is a quiet luxury that makes HørSilke irresistibly beautiful in knitting.
The yarn is twisted and linked in a way that creates long, flexible chains. This makes HørSilke easy to work with, allowing you to vary your gauge from dense and compact to light and transparent. On 3.5 mm needles, you achieve a classic, firm fabric, while 5 mm needles give a more airy, almost sheer drape. The yarn is beautiful and lively on its own, but when combined with a companion thread – such as Cashmere Lace, Cashmere Klassik or Kid Seta – it opens up new dimensions: from buttery-soft luxury to light, airy elegance.
To experience the full potential of the yarn, HørSilke should be soaked in clean water for approximately 24 hours before use. In water, the linen transforms – from slightly firm to soft and shape-stable, with a beautiful drape that follows the body. This process also enhances the silk’s sheen and creates a smooth, refined stitch definition.
HørSilke is not only beautiful, but also a mindful choice. Linen can be grown with minimal impact on soil and environment. The Tussah silk comes from silkworms that are allowed to complete their lifecycle and leave the cocoon naturally. This results in fibres of varying length and thickness, adding life and variation to the yarn. Nothing is wasted – and you get a yarn that is both environmentally considerate and unique in its expression.
This is a yarn for those who want a material that works all year round – from light summer tops and shawls to refined combinations in winter knitting. A yarn that looks and feels like true luxury, and gives value in every stitch.

| Fibers | Hør Silke consists of 70% French-grown linen of the finest quality + 30% wild silk from the Tussah butterfly. Tussah butterfly larvae are allowed to live and chew their way out of the cocoon. Therefore, the silk varies in length and thickness, as the entire cocoon is used. This contributes to the yarn's beautiful variation and vibrancy. At the same time, you and the customer help protect the environment by ensuring nothing is wasted. Produced in Italy.❤️ |

| Wash and care | Hand wash at 20-25°C A laundry bag is especially important, particularly for knits made with large needles. Hør Silke, like all linen, should be soaked in a bath of clean water without soap for up to 24 hours before first use. During the initial soak, Hør Silke expands and fills in all holes and uneven areas, resulting in a neat and even appearance. Linen should never be tumble dried. Always wash a swatch first. |
